Beatiful work! Should't it have a canvas or leather facing, though? I assume you're familiar with Hurstwic.com?

All viking age shields didn't have any facing, some had. I have another shied with leather facing and wooden boss, which were also used back then. I know hurstwic.

Tuo kuusikilpi on senttistä tai hitusen yli kauttaaltaan. Ja se haapainen, nahallapäällystetty, on keskeltä hitusen yli sentin ja ohenee reunoja kohden.

Very nice work! It's great to se a shield of accurate dimensions. All to often you see far to small shields.
